Day 1 (Battle of Crecy)
Your tour begins in Amiens, which can be easily reached on a morning train from Paris. On arrival in Amiens you will be met by your expert guide. The drive to the battlefield of Crecy takes us through the town of Doullens with its medieval citadel and stained glass windows commemorating the 1918 agreement to give overall command of the Western Front to General Foch.
Auxi-le-Chateau, a quaint archetypical French rural town, is the next that we pass on the way to Crecy-en-Ponthiew. At Crecy we will spend the morning exploring the battlefield and enjoying sweeping views from the Observation Tower, the site of the windmill where Edward III (The Black Prince) oversaw his victory in 1346, one of the most critical battles of the Hundred Years War. We will have free time for lunch in the historic town of Hesdin, with its many restaurants. In the afternoon we will drive to the medieval town of Montreuil-Sur-Mer, the burial location of the slain French Lords from the Crecy battlefield. We will then check in to our 3-star hotel situated in the heart of the town.
STAR INCLUSIONS: Pick up from Amiens train station - Full-day touring of the battlefield of Crecy - Central 3-star hotel
Day 2 (Battle of Agincourt)
Day two begins with a guided walking tour of Montreuil and its ramparts. This historic town was the setting for Victor Hugos’ 'Les Miserables' and General Haig set up his headquarters just outside the town during WWI. We will then drive to Agincourt where our guide will take us to the Agincourt Medieval Centre and then on to the Agincourt Memorial and orientation table. The battle of Agincourt on St. Crispin’s Day, 25 October 1415, is perhaps the most famous battle of the Hundred Years War. We will have free time for a local lunch. In the afternoon our guide will return us to Amiens or onwards to Lille for train connections back to Paris or overnight accommodation. (B)

It was a great trip, we had an amazing group on the tour and Mat, Richard and Kristof really did a fantastic job. A great 'taster' for going back to the area - which we will!"
