Port Highlights
20 April    Athens
Athens is one of the world’s oldest cities as well as being the capital of and largest city in Greece. The city’s long history is still very much in evidence through its ancient monuments. The most famous of these monuments, the Parthenon on the Acropolis, is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was formally proclaimed as the pre-eminent monument on the European Cultural Heritage list of monuments on 26 March 2007. The city also retains a vast variety of Roman and Byzantine monuments as well as a smaller number of remaining Ottoman monuments.

21 April    Delos
One of the most famous mythological, historical and archaeological sites in Greece. According to Greek mythology this UNESCO World Heritage site is the birthplace of the twin children of Zeus and Leto: Apollo (god of light and sun) and Artemis (goddess of earth). Highlights of Delos include the Agora of the Competaliasts, one of the main markets, and the Stoivadeion Temple which contains a statue of Dionysus.

21 April    Mykonos
Mykonos is renowned for its cosmopolitan character and intense nightlife. The island is as popular for its beautiful sandy beaches as it is for its bustling lifestyle. In Greek mythology, Mykonos was the location of the ten-year battle between Zeus and the Titans, eventually won by Zeus. The island was named in honour of Apollo's grandson, Mykons, also the son of the King of Delos.

22 April    Patmos
Patmos is mentioned in the Christian scriptural Book of Revelation. The book's author, John, was on Patmos when he received a vision from Jesus. Earliest Christian tradition identifies this writer as John the Apostle, which makes Patmos an important destination for Christian pilgrimage. Visitors are able to visit the cave where John is said to have received his Revelation (the Cave of the Apocalypse), and several monasteries on the island are dedicated to Saint John.

23 April    Dikili
A coastal town in Turkey, the district combines places of natural beauty with areas of historical interest. A crater lake in Merdivenli village, ancient caverns in Demirtaş and Delitaş villages as well as pine forests extending towards the Madra Stream make for fascinating viewing for any tourist. The area is also famous for its thermal springs, found in Nebiler, Bademli and Kocaoba villages, and the beaches in Bademli and Denizköy localities are regular regional tourist attractions. Another must-see is the Merkez Mosque which is a rare example of a wooden construction dating from 1789, having been built without the use of nails.

23 April    Lesbos
According to classical Greek mythology, Lesbos was the patron god of this island. Lesbos is famous for its petrified forests, one of only a few known in the world. Fossilized plants have been found in many localities on the western part of the island and the area has been declared a Protected Natural Monument.

26 April    Istanbul
Istanbul has acquired a reputation for being a cultural and ethnic melting pot. As a result, there are many historical mosques, churches, synagogues, palaces, castles and towers to visit in the city. A number of important Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman monuments abound including the Column of Constantine, the Hippodrome of Constantinople (based on the model of Circus Maximus), the Hagia Sophia (the largest structure on Sultanahmet Square and the Anadoluhisarı and Rumelihisar castles.
